Over the past 3 years, ETS has experienced a steady decline in the demand for and volume of videoconferencing services. As a result, ETS has determined that we can no longer provide facilities-based videoconferencing services to the campus, effective July 1st, 2013.

This past Spring and Summer ETS launched a pilot of Adobe Connect, a conferencing tool that facilitates virtual communication and collaboration via the web. Like WebEx and Skype, Adobe Connect is often used as a low-cost way to conduct meetings across campus or campuses.

Video conferencing is becoming more popular and more reliable as a tool to bridge the distance gap when travel is not an option, impractical or not desired. Much more personal and effective than audio conferencing, all parties involved can see the facial expressions and body language that are so vital to the way we communicate. And, it can be fun.
