What kind of software do I need to view a webcast?

webcast.berkeley makes every effort to require a minimal amount of configuration in order to be able to view our content. All you will need to view webcast.berkeley courses and events is a common Internet browser such as Firefox or Safari and the latest version of the Flash player plugin installed or a common media player such as iTunes or VLC. webcast.berkeley also makes select courses and events from our archives available in a legacy streaming format, which requires Real Player.

Please be aware that you may need to transcode our AAC formatted (.m4a format) lecture and events files for your device. We chose AAC for a number of reasons including superior quality, smaller file size, and compatibility for multiple platforms.
